European Collaboration

Alongside its general mission to promote international collaboration and information exchange, the Swedish Research Council also has specific responsibilities for research collaboration within the European Union (EU).

The Council has experts on the programme committees for seven areas of the current Framework Programme for Research and Technical Development as well as National Contact Points for two areas. The Council actively promotes the implementation of the European Research Area (ERA) through the participation in a number of ERA-net programmes and Joint Programming (JP) Initiatives. The Council coordinates the JPI for antimicrobial resistance. The Swedish Research Council is a member of The European Science Foundation (ESF) and Science Europe.
