NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program Graduate Research Opportunities Worldwide

The Graduate Research Opportunities Worldwide enables NSF Graduate Research Fellows to gain international research experience and establish collaborations with counterparts at research institutions in partner countries around the world.

In Sweden, visits of between two and twelve months will be supported. Support for the visiting Fellow´s additional living expenses will be provided by the Swedish Research Council through the Swedish host institution. Anticipated support for additional living expenses will be approximately 13 000 SEK per month.

Interested Graduate Research Fellows are strongly encouraged to contact potential collaborators at Swedish Centers of Excellence. These include Berzelii Centers, Linnaeus Environments and Centers of Gender Excellence. Please follow the links to the right for more information on these host institutions. The Centers of Excellence are examples of institutions but other Swedish research groups can also host NSF Graduate Research Fellows.

Interested Fellows are encouraged to contact the research groups directly and secure a letter of collaboration that includes a plan for the stay in Sweden, and a biographical sketch of the responsible professor/researcher at the host institution. Information on eligibility requirements and schedule for submitting proposals can be found on the NSF websiteexternal link, opens in new window.
