The Swedish Research Council participates in a number of organisations and programs outside of Europe. Here you can read about our global collaborations. We also have a number of bilateral agreements.
The mission of the Swedish Research Council is to provide advice to the Swedish government within UNESCO's area of science, and to produce documentation and Swedish viewpoints within UNESCO’s area of science. The commission includes coordinating the work of the UNESCO scientific programmes at national level.
The Swedish Research Council participates in the International Lithosphere Program (ILP) which is an international, multidisciplinary geoscience programme established by the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU).
The Swedish Research Council is a member of the International Stem Cell Forum (ISCF), an association of research funding agencies committed to international collaboration and information exchange in stem cell research.
The Swedish Research Council also collaborates with the National Science Foundation in the US, e.g. through the GROW programme andwith organisations in China and India.
The Swedish Research Council also participates in the activities of the Global Research Council (GRC), a virtual organisation comprised of the heads of science and engineering funding agencies from around the world, dedicated to promoting the sharing of data and best practices for high-quality collaboration.
