Our grants 2016

The Swedish Research Council provides different forms of research grant funding in order to best support Swedish research.

The table below gives you an overview of calls during 2016. Please note that not all detailed requirements have yet been finalised, and that the scientific councils, the committees and the board of the Swedish Research Council may still decide on additional grants. For these reasons, the information on our grants and calls will be continuously updated. Full guidelines for applicants will be published in the respective call texts when a call is launched.

Additional calls may also be launched in the course of 2016, for example at the request of the Swedish government.

Please note! Opening date for some calls have been postponed and the call for Doctoral Programme Grant within educational sciences have been cancelled. This is partly due to government related details remaining to be determined. Please see the table below for current information.

Research Infrastructure

The areas and infrastructures identified in the 2015 infrastructure needs survey, and thereafter selected in the assessment and prioritisation process, will be included in the Swedish Research Council's Infrastructure Guide for the year 2016. The Research Council will therefore not publish any research infrastructure calls in 2016. The next call will be launched in 2017. The focus of the next call, including eligible infrastructures and research fields, will be established by the Council for Research Infrastructures in the course of 2016.

Grant funding to scientific journals

The Swedish Research Council is currently considering new forms of support to scientific journals to promote the development of high-quality scientific journals in Sweden, which offer open access to publications. The framework and the details of the new Scientific Journal Grant will be established in the second half of 2016. The grant is scheduled to be launched in 2017.
