Research infrastructure

The term research infrastructure means for example central or distributed research facilities, databases or comprehensive data networks. Access to joint research infrastructure is frequently a condition for research of the highest quality. The tools for research are moreover often so advanced and expensive that collaboration in a region, country or internationally is necessary.

Apply for experimentation time or a post

See "Facilities" in the left-hand menu, in order to see what infrastructures Swedish researchers have access to or which Sweden is planning to participate in. Information is given there about how to apply for experimentation time, how to access data or get in contact otherwise with the infrastructure. Vacant posts are also advertised on the organisations´ websites.

The Research Council´s work with research infrastructure

So that Swedish researchers can have access to infrastructure for research of the highest quality, the Council´s Committee for Research Infrastructures, KFI, works to promote and support the expansion and exploitation of infrastructure.

There are many infrastructures in Sweden, but, so as to satisfy researchers´ need of infrastructure within all areas of knowledge, Sweden also has agreements with a large number of international facilities and organisations.
