Linköping Linnaeus Initiative for Novel Functional Materials (LiLi-NFM)

The teams behind LiLi-NFM aim to build and constitute a Coordinated Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Materials Research. The initiative is timely, as Linköping has targeted Materials Science as a prioritized area.

Their scope is in doing basic research to fundamentally understand the atomistic nature of materials and learn how to make materials perform better through new methods of synthesis and processing. Thus, we create materials and devices for the future generations.

The core activity of LiLi-NFM is within the largest and most rapidly developing area of physics research. Specifically, we will study epilayers, thin films and nanoscale materials. Our laboratories are state-of-the-art and we have a leading position regarding synthesis of wide-band gap materials, nanocomposites, fullerene-like compounds, and organic molecular materials.

We anticipate to be making discoveries of novel phases, structures, and phenomena. It is our strategy for excellence of the new Environment to develop and integrate theory, simulations, and experiment.
