Statistics 2017

The Swedish Research Council has in total prepared 5 805 applications during 2017. Of these, 1 049 applications have been granted more than 4.7 billion SEK. The Swedish Research Council has also granted approximately 4 billion SEK to research infrastructures.

Free research

The largest part of the funding are within free research, which means grants that are not limited to a particular area.

This year, more then 3.7 billion SEK were awarded for free research. Almost one billion SEK was granted for project grants within a specific area, such as Research project grant – Research on civil society.
