The Swedish Research Council is Sweden’s largest governmental research funding body and supports research of the highest quality in all scientific fields. We advise the Government on research policy and work to ensure that research benefit society.
This year, the Swedish Research Council has received many more applications for research grants than in previous years: just over 7,400 applications. Of these, 1,043 have been approved. In total, we have awarded 5.62 billion SEK to research at Swedish higher education institutions. That is over a billion more than last year. In addition, we have funded research infrastructure with 2.99 billion SEK.
