Council for Register Data

The Council for Register Data advises the Swedish Research Council on policy issues related to register-based research. The members of the Council represent the large register data owners and the research community.

Contributes with knowledge and advice

The Council for Register Data supports the Swedish Research Council in the work of improving the prerequisites for researchers to use data from registers in their research.

For example, the Council has the mandate of

  • supporting us in our work to develop principles and systems that improve access to registers for research by coordinating data
  • contributing to long-term strategic activities that strengthen Swedish register-based research
  • providing support to the work on harmonising metadata at Nordic, European and international levels.

The Council for Register Data has 12 members appointed by the Swedish Research Council. The members represent the big register data owners and the scientific community at top management level.
