Register-based research

We run the website registerforskning.se, which contains information on how to use register data in your research. Here there is also a tool that makes it easier to search in registers and analyse what the variables in the registers mean.

The Swedish Research Council is working to improve access to register data for research purposes. On our website registerforskning.seexternal link there is guidance for those who want to use register data in their research.

Search and match metadata with the RUT tool

In addition to information about the regulations that apply when you make use of register data, there is also a tool that makes it easier to search registers and analyse what the variables in the registers mean. Using this tool, you can search and match metadata both in and between registers. The tool is called Register Utiliser Tool (RUT).
