Quality and impact of research in physics in Sweden
The Swedish Research Council has made an evaluation of Swedish research in physics based on the Swedish Research Council's model for national evaluations of research subjects. The focus of the evaluation is scientific quality and societal impact. The review has been carried out by an external and mainly international panel.
The panel states that the scientific production in physics is of high quality and that Swedish physics research has a great impact both nationally and internationally.
Physics research in Sweden has a strong connection to industry, the education system and the international research community, which shows that the research is important for the surrounding society.
In the report, the panel also reflects that research takes time but contributes with solutions to societal challenges.
