Research project grant Röntgen-Ångström Cluster

Röntgen-Ångström Cluster (RÅC) is a German-Swedish research collaboration in structural biology and materials science. The purpose is to strengthen research in materials science and structural biology that uses neutron and synchrotron radiation (also free electron laser radiation), and to stimulate the use and/or accumulation of competence for major research infrastructures that already exist or are planned within the framework for the collaboration.

Applicant: Individual researcher active in Sweden in collaboration with an applicant/project leader in Germany

Participating researchers: A minimum of 1 and maximum of 5 researchers shall be invited to participate. In addition to the mandatory applicant/international project leader from Germany, 4 researchers active in Sweden may be invited to participate in the application.

Grant period: 1-4 year

Grant amount: Minimum 500 000 SEK per year, maximum 2 000 000 SEK per year

Budgetary framework: Approximately 60 million SEK

Start of grant period: January 2022

Application period: 3 March 2021 (14.00/2 pm) – 4 May 2021 (14.00/2 pm)

Publication of grant award: No later than the beginning of December 2021

Please note:

  • As from 2020, you must explain in your research plan how your stated activity level is suited to the implementation of the research project.
  • You will need to have a data management plan Opens in new window. for data generated within the research we award funds for. You must not send the plan to us, but according to our general grant terms and conditions, your administrating organisation must confirm that a data management plan will be in place when you start your project or equivalent, and also that the plan will be maintained.
