Research infrastructure of national interest
The Swedish Research Council has decided on the applications to be awarded grants within the call Research infrastructure of national interest. Our total grant amount for 2020-2024 is 700 million SEK.

The call was based on the result of the needs inventory
Only the research infrastructures/areas listed in the call text "Grants to research infrastructure of national interest" were able to apply for funding. The research infrastructures/areas listed were selected either on the basis of a needs inventory that was carried out during 2017, or had an ongoing grant that was due to end in 2019 or 2020.
What happens after the grant decision?
Following applies for approved applications:
In the beginning of October, representatives of the host universities whose infrastructures have been awarded grants will be invited by email to a dialogue about the conditions associated with the grants. Together with this invitation, also the statements will be sent out.
No later than December 2019, following completion of the dialogues, the special terms and conditions for the grants shall be signed.
Following completion of the dialogues, the decisions and statements will be available in the organisation account in Prisma.

Within a week after the decision of the call has been published, the decision and statements will be available in the organisation account in Prisma.

How to find the final statement:
- Go to tab “Applications and grants”
- Select “Applications” in the left-hand menu
- Click on the arrow to the right of the “Event log” button

Payment of the grant will start no sooner than January 2020, and it will be paid out monthly on condition that the special terms and conditions have been signed. The infrastructure’s host university will receive the grant, and shall then administer payments to the other contributing HEIs.
