Several grants simultaneously

If you intend to apply for several grants from the Swedish Research Council in the same year, there are certain restrictions. The same applies if you are receiving a grant from us and want to apply for a new grant.

Grants you can apply for in the same year

Do you want to apply for several grants from us in the same year? This is possible for certain grants. The basic rule is that you can only submit one application for each research project. But in certain cases, you may submit several applications, for example if they relate to different types of grants or different research ideas. You should always report this in your applications to us.

The table below provides information about what you can apply for simultaneously. In some cases you also need to read more in the call texts to find out the applicable conditions.

Grants you can apply for if you are already receiving a grant from us

If you are already a project leader for a grant from the Swedish Research Council, there are certain restrictions when you apply for a new grant with a grant period that overlaps the grant period for your ongoing grant.

The table below has information about what you can apply for if you have an ongoing grant. In some cases you also need to read more in the call texts to find out the applicable conditions.

Note: Before you can apply for a new grant, a final financial report must be submitted for any previous grants which have ended. By ended, we mean that both the grant period and the availability period for the grant have expired. Please contact your administrating organisation if you are unsure whether a final report has been submitted.

Grants from other funding bodies

When you apply for a grant, your application must state
whether your application concerns a project idea for which you or a participating researcher has already received grants from another funding body
whether you or any participating researcher has applied for funds for the same project idea from another funding body.
