Research project grant within Neutron Scattering

With this call, the Swedish Research Council wishes to facilitate Swedish competency accumulation and early research of the highest standard at the start of the European Spallation Source (ESS). The purpose of the research project grant is to give researchers the freedom to formulate by themselves the research concept, method and implementation, and to solve a specific research task within a limited period of time. The call is aimed at research and development of the early use of ESS or other neutron source with relevance to planned instruments at ESS, that is to say the call for research projects is made for basic research within neutron scattering, and also for development of methods and instrumentation for early use/expert users when ESS comes into operation. Relevance for the neutron scattering area and early use of ESS are an absolute requirement for this grant. The Swedish Research Council rewards research of the highest scientific quality in national competition.
