Welcome to the installation of Carol Cohn as the 2019 holder of the Olof Palme Visiting Professorship. Carol Cohn is Professor of Political Science at University of Massachusetts in Boston, USA. On 21 September she will hold her inaugural lecture at the Swedish Defence University in Stockholm.

Olof Palme Visiting Professorship

Every year, the Swedish Research Council's Scientific Council for Humanities and Social Sciences appoints a holder of the Olof Palme Visiting Professorship. Carol Cohn, the 2019 visiting professor, researches war and conflicts from a gender science perspective. During her time in Sweden, she will be active at the Swedish Defence University.

Carol Cohn's inaugural lecture Why We Need a Feminist Roadmap for Sustainable Peace and a Sustainable Planet is open to the public.

The purpose of the Swedish Research Council's grants to visiting professors is to give universities the opportunity to develop an area by recruiting an internationally leading professor for a short period.
