Mutual Learning Exercises (MLEs) aim to develop national and European policies through knowledge exchange and mutual learning. Part of the EU framework programme Horizon Europe, The MLE on Public Engagement has investigated how the public can become more engaged in research through e.g. dialogues and co-creation processes. The exercise has resulted in four thematic reports and a final report summarising the findings, including policy recommendations. The final report will be presented in Brussels on 1 April.
Eight countries have been involved in the MLE: Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia and Sweden.
Expert and MLE Chair is Cissi Askwall, the Swedish Research Council. Swedish national representatives in the MLE are Anna Maria Fleetwood, the Swedish Research Council, and Maria Hagardt, Vetenskap & Allmänhet (from 10 March employed by the Swedish Research Council).
