Interview training for the ERC Synergy Grant 2026, part 1
The Swedish Research Council organises a webinar series for European Research Council (ERC) Synergy Grant step 3 candidates to offer advice and inspiration for the interview with the ERC panel. The target group is researchers that have applied with a Swedish Host Institute. Administrative staff at Swedish universities who work with research support for ERC applicants are also welcome to participate. There are two occasions with different content, 17 and 20 August. This is the first one.

These ERC interview training webinars are aimed at researchers applying with Swedish host institutions who have applied for an ERC Synergy Grant and have progressed to step 3 of the evaluation processes, and for researchers based in Sweden that have applied for an ERC SyG in team with researchers in another country.
The Swedish Research Council support researchers in applying for funding from the European Research Council, ERC, in various ways. The webinar series aims to prepare candidates for the interview with the ERC panel. The candidates will have the opportunity to meet and obtain information from previous ERC Synergy grantees and evaluators.

Opportunity to meet researchers with experience from ERC interviews, as well as researchers with experience from ERC review panel evaluations.

- Bernhard Mehlig, University of Gothenburg, awarded ERC SyG-grant 2025 for the project: TurPhyCloud – The role of Turbulence in the Physics of Clouds.
- Peter Jordan, Lund University, awarded ERC SyG-grant 2025 for the project: FORAGER – Investigating alternative trajectories for human demographic growth in temperate northern Holocene societies
- Tuuli Lappalainen, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, SyG 2023 Panel experiences within (Physical Sciences and Engineering) och ERC-2021-CoG Grantee

The ERC has published the results of last years call for ERC Advanced Grant. 319 researchers from 24 different countries are awarded the grant. 11 of them are affiliated to a Swedish host institution.
