Network meeting between the Swedish Research Council and South Korea

The purpose of the network meeting is for researchers and representatives of the National Research Foundation of Korea, NRF, and a number of Swedish research funding bodies to meet and discuss possible collaborations for a better society. The meeting focuses on research into health, new materials and data communication; areas where both countries are already making large-scale investments. In Sweden, this is done via SciLifeLab, the European Spallation Source and participation in the European high-power computer investment EuroHPC. During the meeting, some of the collaborations within science and technology that have already been completed will also be presented.

The event is aimed at invited researchers and representatives of public authorities. From Sweden, the attendees will be researchers from previous projects and representatives from NRF’s other Swedish collaboration partners, such as the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education and the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research.

Jung-Hye Roe, President of NRF, and Sven Stafström, Director General of the Swedish Research Council, will host the network day. South Korea will also be represented by Kong-Joo Lee, Scientific Adviser to the President of South Korea, and Sweden by Jonas Björck, Head of the Research Policy Unit at the Ministry of Education and Research.
