The Swedish Research Council has a new Executive Director
Maria Thuveson, former head of the Department of Research Funding, replaces Ann Fust at the position as Executive Director at the Swedish Research Council.

Maria Thuveson has held the position as Executive Director at the Swedish Research Council since 1 November 2019. As the Executive Director, she is the deputy Director General and assists the Director General with heading the public authority.
Maria Thuveson was previously head of the Department of Research Funding. Lucas Pettersson, former head of the Monitoring Unit, succeeds Maria.

Katarina Bjelke will be taking over as Director General of the Swedish Research Council after Sven Stafström. This was announced by the Government today, Thursday 2 June. Katarina Bjelke will take up her new position on 15 September.
