Three researchers in Sweden to receive an ERC Proof of concept grant in the third call 2020

It has now been decided who will recieve an ERC Proof of Concept Grant in the third and last call 2020. 55 researchers from 17 different countries were awarded this grant. Three of those are affiliated to a Swedish university.

The ERC Proof of Concept funding is made available to those who already have an ERC award, and will cover activities at the very early stage of turning research outputs into a commercial or socially valuable proposition. The grant amount is 150 000 euro.

Karolinska Institutet

  • Georgios Sotiriou with the project HOTSKIN Hybrid drug-loaded plasmonic photothermal microneedle patch against skin infections

Lund University

  • Edouard Berrocal with the project Modu-Spectro A new spectrophotometer for measurements in turbid liquids
  • Christelle Prinz with the project 1-SWITCH One-step switchable fluorescent probe assay for direct virus detection
