Nominate researchers for the Athena Prize

Up until 29 May, you can nominate candidates for the Athena Prize, Sweden’s largest prize for research and innovation.

This is the fifteenth year in a row that the Athena Prize is awarded. The prize was established in 2008 with the vision of improving health and living conditions for human beings by stimulating research and innovation in collaboration between healthcare, academia and business.

Dagens Medicin and Vinnova are responsible for the Athena Prize, which is also supported by Forte, the Swedish Research Council and Lif. The jury for the prize includes Jonas Oldgren, Secretary General for Clinical Research at the Swedish Research Council.

The deadline for nominations for the Athena Prize is 29 May. You are welcome to nominate projects carried out either by others or by yourself. The nomination is done in two steps, and for the first step only a brief justification is required. In the next step, the jury will select the most interesting projects, which are then asked to provide a more detailed description. The winner receives 100 000 SEK in the form of a research and educational grant.

Further information about the Athena Prize and a link to the nomination form is available at dagensmedicin.se (in Swedish) External link.. There you can also find a list of all the previous winners.
