One researcher in Sweden to receive an ERC Proof of Concept Grant

It has now been decided who will receive an ERC Proof of Concept Grant in the second call for 2022. One of the researches awarded the grant is affiliated to a Swedish university.

The ERC Proof of Concept call is announced three times a year and the funding is made available to those who already have an ERC award. The grant will cover activities at the very early stage of turning research outputs into a commercial or socially valuable proposition.

In the second call for 2022, 55 researchers from 16 different countries were awarded the grant, worth 150 000 EUR. Paul Bourigine, who is affiliated to Lund University, is the only researcher in Sweden to receive the grant. He will get funding for developing his project OssiGel, which involves the development of patient “ossicle” for the personalised modelling of bone-developing cancers and therapeutic testing.
