International collaboration on gender equality, GENDER-NET Plus, is summarised at conference
The six-year collaboration GENDER-NET Plus is about to end. The results from the research projects funded and other activities within the collaboration will be presented at a conference in Brussels on 13–14 February. The conference can be followed online.
GENDER-NET Plus is an international collaboration aimed at promoting the inclusion of sex and gender perspectives in research and innovation. The collaboration began in 2017 as part of Horizon 2020, the EU’s framework programme for research and innovation then in force.
A joint transnational call was issued within the collaboration, where the Swedish Research Council funded Swedish participation in the amount of 28 million SEK.
GENDER-NET Plus has also carried out various activities to promote gender equality in research funding. In 2022, a policy brief was published with recommendations for increasing gender equality in research funding. The Swedish Research Council led the work of producing the recommendations.
The six-year collaboration is now about to end, and the results from the research projects funded and other activities within GENDER-NET Plus will be presented at a conference in Brussels. The conference can be followed online.
The research projects all have a sex, gender or intersectional perspective in areas such as health, ageing, gender-based violence and climate change. Swedish participants have been included in 10 of the 13 projects in total.

GENDER-NET Plus – a collaboration within Horizon 2020
GENDER-NET Plus started in 2017 within Horizon 2020, the EU’s framework programme for research and development then in force. The collaboration includes 16 research funding bodies from 11 European countries, plus Canada and Israel.
