Nominate researchers for the Athena Prize 2023

The sponsors of the Athena Prize are Dagens Medicin, Lif, the Swedish Research Council, and Vinnova. The prize amount is 100 000 SEK, and it is possible to nominate both other people’s projects and your own.

Examples of types of projects that may be awarded:

• Development and improvement of diagnostics, therapy or prevention.
• New methods, services, techniques or products that develop medical and personal care.
• Services that produce increased benefit, accessibility and participation for patients.

When the nomination period has finished, the jury will select some of the nominated projects. These will be asked to submit a detailed description of the research work, which the jury will review in the next step. The jury will assess the projects based on five criteria, including societal benefit and scientific quality.

On 15 November, the prize winners will be presented in Dagens Medicin.
