Swedish Research Council funds 5 reserves who applied for funding from the EU’s MSCA programme
The Swedish Research Council has decided to fund 5 researchers in Sweden who were highly ranked in the EU’s call for Post Doctoral European Fellowship 2023.
The Swedish Research Council has main responsibility for Swedish participation in the EU programme Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions, MSCA. We have now decided to fund five of the researchers who did not receive funding from MSCA under the call Post Doctoral European Fellowship, but received the quality award Seal of Excellence. All the researchers have a Swedish host organisation that the Swedish Research Council has approved – a requirement for receiving funding from us.
EU made the decision on the call last spring. In total, 74 researchers with Swedish host institutions have now been awarded funding.
The grant funds activities in Sweden, and the grant period is 12–24 months. Researchers in all scientific fields can apply for the grant.
The following researchers will receive funding from the Swedish Research Council:
- Lucia Elgerud Norström, Uppsala University with the project: Death and the body: An assessment of Swedish views on organ donation and whole body donation
- Andrew Reeve, Swedish Natural History Museum with the project: A tropical bird fauna’s response to 2.6 million years of climate changes
- Myra Noemi Chavez Rosas, Uppsala University with the project: A zebra-fish based platform to uncover genetic causes and potential treatments for lysosome-associated cardiac diseases
- Mariá Sebastià Sáez, Uppsala University with the project: A paradigm for poor motherhood: Phaedra as madastra in Spanish contemorary drama
- Shubham Singh, Karolinska Institutet with the project: BreathEASY – Understanding the molecular ballet that starts asthma
The total funding for the five projects is around 15 million SEK.
