Nine projects awarded grants for research into sustainable development of the Arctic
It has now been decided who will get grants under Nordforsk’s initiative for research into sustainable development of the Arctic. The call is aimed at researchers in the Nordic countries, and in Canada and USA.
Nordforsk received 199 applications in the first stage of the call. Of these, 32 went on to the second stage. Nine projects have now been awarded funding. The projects will in various ways address the issues relating to ensuring sustainable development of the Arctic. In five of them, researchers from Sweden are participating.
The overall budget for the call is 330 million NOK.
Funding bodies in eight countries back the call: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark Greenland, Canada, and USA. The Swedish Research Council is one of the funding bodies.
