Nordforsk is issuing a call for grants to research networks in natural sciences and related fields of engineering

Nordforsk has opened a call to support multidisciplinary networks in natural sciences and related fields of engineering in the Nordic countries. The deadline for applications is 14 August 2025.

The purpose of the call “Nordforsk research networks in natural sciences and related engineering fields” is to support multidisciplinary research collaborations in natural sciences and related areas of technology in the Nordic countries. In the long run, the aim is to strengthen international competitiveness, innovation ability, and ground-breaking research in the Nordic countries.

The call is funded by Nordforsk in collaboration with the Joint Committee of the Natural Sciences Research Councils in the Nordic Countries (NOS-N). The Swedish Research Council is one of the research funding bodies participating in NOS-N.

The call is aimed at junior researchers, that is, researchers whose doctoral degrees were awarded 2-7 years ago. With this initiative, NOS-N wishes to encourage the next generation of Nordic researchers to create new connections across national and discipline borders, and to build up robust networks that may affect future careers and research focuses.

Each network shall include researchers from at least four universities or organisations, and from at least three Nordic countries. The networks may apply for up to 2 million NOK. At total of 15 research networks may receive funding.

The deadline for applications is 14 August 2025.
