Seven researchers in Sweden to receive ERC Proof of Concept Grant 2025
It has now been decided who will recieve an ERC Proof of Concept Grant in the first round of the call 2025. Seven researchers are affiliated to a Swedish host institution.
The ERC Proof of Concept Grant is made available to those who already have an ERC award, and will cover activities at the very early stage of turning research outputs into a commercial or socially valuable proposition. The grant amount is 150 000 euro.
ERC-2025-PoC has a total of two deadlines. Now the results from the first round have arrived. 150 researchers from 21 different countries were awarded. Seven of those are affiliated to a Swedish host institution.

- Gonçalo Castelo-Branco with the project MeTLAND: Cost-effective and Sensitive DNA Methylation Profiling for Advancing Single-Cell Epigenomics

- Ian Hoffecker with the project DROPSCRIBE: Rewriting the rules of DNA data storage with partitioning of structured media.

- Adam Williamson with the project SLEEP-TI: Sleep Enhancement with Portable Temporal Interference Neuromodulation
- Colm Nestor with the project TRIXI: Diagnosing skewed X-inactivation in women - Tandem Repeat-based Identification of X-chromosome Inactivation (TRiXi)
Lund University
- Paul Bourgine with the project CiThOss: Cellular immunoTHERapy modelling by exploitation of humanized OSSicles
- Carmelo D´Agostino with the project SafeMoVE: Safety and Mobility Optimization via Virtual Environments Lab
