Swedish Research Council funds seven reserves who applied for funding from the EU’s MSCA programme
The Swedish Research Council has decided to fund seven researchers in Sweden who were highly ranked in the EU’s call for Post Doctoral European Fellowship 2024.
The Swedish Research Council has main responsibility for Swedish participation in the EU programme Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions, MSCA. We have now decided to fund six of the researchers who did not receive funding from MSCA under the call Post Doctoral European Fellowship, but received the quality award Seal of Excellence. All the researchers have a Swedish host organisation that the Swedish Research Council has approved – a requirement for receiving funding from us.
EU made the decision on the call last spring. In total, 53 researchers with Swedish host institutions have now been awarded funding.
The grant funds activities in Sweden, and the grant period is 12–24 months. Researchers in all scientific fields can apply for the grant.
The following researchers will receive funding from the Swedish Research Council:
- Amin Ravaei, Karolinska Institutet with the project: Uncovering Hidden Genetic Markers and Structural Variants in Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis Using Long-Read Sequencing: A Case-Control Study
- Pascha Mirte, Karolinska Institutet with the project: Delineating Lassa virus immunology through innovative high precision immune recruitment
- Yanjie Huang, Karolinska Institutet with the project: Extracellular vesicles for in vivo gene editing of hematopoietic stem cells
- Baodong Li, Chalmers University of Technology with the project: Heavy metal transformation and immobilization of carbonated supplementary cementitious material
- Fabio Shimabukuro Sandes, Högskolan i Borås with the project: VISION - Virtual Immersive Studies on Interventions for Optimizing Nurture in Secondhand Consumption
- Vipinraj Sugathan, Lund University with the project: Hierarchical 2D Lead-free Perovskite Multi-Quantum Wells for Indoor Photovoltaics
- Guillaume Lavanchy, Lund University with the project: Diversitet och makroevolution av en könsbegränsad polymorfism (added 11 December 2025)
The total funding for the seven projects is more than 19 million SEK.
