Work on the Swedish Research Council’s research reviews is underway

In 2026, the Swedish Research Council’s scientific councils and committees will produce research reviews within their respective scientific fields. This autumn, we will give researchers and other stakeholders the opportunity to comment on a first draft.

What are the conditions for Swedish research in the humanities and social sciences, natural sciences and engineering, medicine and health, clinical therapy research, artistic research, and educational science?

The Swedish Research Council’s research overviews are intended to provide a comprehensive description of the current state of research in Sweden and the trends that can be discerned. They will include an analysis of the challenges, needs, and development opportunities in the various fields.

The research overviews are produced every four years and serve as a key basis for the Swedish Research Council’s strategic work. This year it is time again, and work on the overviews is in full swing.

In September–October 2026, there will be an opportunity to submit comments on a first draft.
