11 researchers in Sweden to receive an ERC Advanced Grant 2025

The ERC has published the results of last years call for ERC Advanced Grant. 319 researchers from 24 different countries are awarded the grant. 11 of them are affiliated to a Swedish host institution.

ERC Advanced Grant is intended for active researchers who have a track-record of significant research achievements in the last ten years, and the average grant is 2,5 million EUR.

Under the call 2025, 319 researchers from 24 countries will share 840 million EUR. Among the 11 researchers in Sweden receiving ERC Advanced Grant, 5 are active within life sciences, 4 within social sciences and humanities and 2 within physical sciences and engineering.

ERC recieved 3 329 applications. The approval rate was 9,6 percent.

The Swedish Research Council supports researchers applying for grants from the ERC

We organise webinars to prepare researchers at Swedish universities for interviews with the ERC panel, as well as information meetings ahead of upcoming calls for proposals.
