Four researchers in Sweden to receive an ERC-2026-Proof of Concept Grant

It has now been decided who will recieve an ERC Proof of Concept Grant in the first round of the call 2026. Four of the researchers are affiliated to a Swedish host institution.

The ERC Proof of Concept Grant is made available to those who already have an ERC award, and will cover activities at the very early stage of turning research outputs into a commercial or socially valuable proposition. The grant amount is 150 000 euro.

ERC-2026-PoC has a total of two deadlines. Now the results from the first round have arrived. 182 researchers from 21 different countries were awarded. Four of those are affiliated to a Swedish host institution.

Karolinska institutet

  • Emma Andersson with the project :In_UteRobo: Benchmarking and commercialization route for In utero engineering of mouse models with Robotics

Lund University

  • Hanna Isaksson with the project: TendonRehab: From rat to human: Patient-specific rehabilitation for Achilles tendon regeneration

Stockholm University

  • Tom Van Der Valk with the project: ECOGEN: A genome-scale platform for automated biodiversity monitoring and regulatory reporting

Uppsala University

  • Fabien Burki with the project: TaRGet 2.0: Targeted single-capsule genomics applied to harmful cyanobacteria
