Emergency call for hantavirus or Ebola virus

We have now published an upcoming call: Emergency call for hantavirus or Ebola virus. This initiative forms part of the national research programme in viruses and pandemics.

The grant is aimed at researchers in all subject areas who currently receive, or have previously received, funding from the Swedish Research Council.

Through this emergency grant, the Swedish Research Council aims to support projects that rapidly can contribute to managing ongoing viral outbreaks that risk developing into a pandemic. The focus is on accelerating research with the aim of enabling rapid implementation within healthcare, public health work or necessary societal measures.

– Acute health crises require rapid research efforts. With this call we aim to create preconditions for scientific breakthroughs that can be swiftly translated into measures to combat hantavirus or Ebola virus, says Frida Mowafi, Analyst at the Swedish Research Council’s Department of Analysis.
