Newsletter: Personal data processing

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, and complementary national legislation, the Swedish Research Council provides the following information on the processing of your personal data.

Purpose and lawfulness

The personal data, your email address and in some circumstances also your name, is collected and used to deliver our newsletter to you as a subscriber. The legal grounds for the handling is consent.

Storage and protection

Your personal data is kept and stored by the Swedish Research Council for as long as you choose to subscribe to the newsletter. The data is protected by using relevant technical and organisational measures.

Swedish Research Council is a public authority that implies that personal data may be subject to disclosure to third parties when a request for public documents is made under the constitution on freedom of press. Before any disclosure, an assessment according to the secrecy regulation is always made.

Rights of the data subject

You have the right to obtain information about the controller’s processing of your personal data, to have incorrect personal data corrected and the right to have incomplete personal data completed. Further you also have the right, under certain circumstances, to have data erased or to object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint to Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection). You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
