Research project grant for international collaboration on graphene – basic research (FLAG-ERA)

The purpose of the grant is to support international collaboration within basic research into graphene. Sweden, via the Swedish Research Council, is one of the 14 countries taking part in the FLAG-ERA call, which rewards research of the highest scientific quality in international competition.

Applicant: Individual researcher who participates as 1 of maximum 2 Swedish project leaders in a consortium with partners from at least 3 participating countries. Only researchers at an administrating organisation approved by the Swedish Research Council may apply.

Grant period: 3 years

Grant amount: Minimum 400 000 SEK (approximately 37 000 EUR) per Swedish applicant and year. Maximum 1 500 000 SEK (approximately 140 000 EUR) per year, per project for Swedish participation.

Start of grant period: January 2022

Call deadline:
For the consortium application to FLAG-ERA: 19 April 2021 (17.00/5 pm)
For the Swedish project leader’s application in Prisma: 27 April 2021 (14.00/2 pm)

Publication of grant award: No later than the end of October 2021

Please note:

  • If you are participating as a Swedish applicant/partner in an international consortium, you must submit a parallel application to the Swedish Research Council. This is a national eligibility requirement that must be fulfilled before we can approve your participation in the consortium application.
  • You should inform the national contact person at the Swedish Research Council of your intentions to participate in the call.
  • A new feature of this application is that the application is made in a one-step procedure.
  • You will need to have a data management plan Opens in new window. for data generated within the research we award funds for. You must not send the plan to us, but according to our general grant terms and conditions, your administrating organisation must confirm that a data management plan will be in place when you start your project or equivalent, and also that the plan will be maintained.
