Forum for Science Communication is a one-day event held annually for persons working with science communication. It is a meeting place for inspiration, professional development and networking.
The Swedish Research Council is one of the arrangers.

FFF pop-up is a series of digital meetings for people who work with science communication. The name refers to the annual conference, Forum för Forum for Science Communication. FFF pop-up is an opportunity to meet outside the conference, and to discuss topical issues in the area.
Offentliga samtal is a seminar series that highlights research results in a broader perspective, and encourages dialogue between researchers and other affected by the results.
Two researchers present their results on a topical subject and then meet practitioners for a panel discussion before an audience. Examples of practitioners are politicians, representatives of organisations or media that in some way are affected by or engaged in the subject, and who therefore can bring different perspectives.
The Swedish Research Council arranges Offentliga samtal together with the Institute for Futures Studies. The first seminar was held in 2016.

ForskarFredag/European Researchers’ Night is Sweden’s most distributed science festival, with activities throughout Sweden, on the last Friday and Saturday in September. Visitors and researchers meet through experiments, workshops, try-it-out activities, science shows, competitions, discussions, exhibitions, etc.
The general public is the target group, with special focus on children and young persons. Local activities are organised by local and regional actors, such as higher education institutions, science centres, municipalities, regional associations, science parks, museums, archives and research centres. ForskarFredag/European Researchers’ Night is coordinated nationally by the association V&A (Public & Science). The Swedish Research Council is a collaborating partner.

The International Science Festival Gothenburg is an annual popular science event. With hundreds of activities, 70 000 visitors and more than 1 000 hours of science, the International Science Festival Gothenburg plays an important role in reaching out and kindling interest in research and science.
The festival communicates science in an easily accessible and creative way, and creates meeting places for schools, the general public, the research community and business. The Swedish Research Council is one of the principal arrangers.
Falling Walls Engage is a programme of activities designed to promote successful science engagement, which is run by the Falling Walls Foundation. VA (Public & Science) coordinates the Falling Walls Engage Hub Sweden, which will organize networking meetings and conferences on public engagement and science communication particularly in the Nordics and Baltics. The purpose of Falling Walls Engage is to connect science engagement practitioners from across the world and provide a platform for exchange and dialogue on bridging the gap between science and society.

Forskning.se is a platform that provides news about Swedish research to the general public and journalists. It publishes current research news from Swedish universities, research institutes and research organisations. For journalists, it also offers assistance in connecting with researchers.
The Swedish Research Council, Vinnova, Forte and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency are behind Forskning.se. The editorial team are located at the Swedish Research Council.

Curie is published by the Swedish Research Council. The views expressed in the periodical are not the official views of the Swedish Research Council. The editorial team is supported by an editorial council with representatives from higher education institutions and research funding bodies.


The popular science periodical Forskning & Framsteg reports on the latest research findings within a large number of areas. It is available in paper format and in a digital edition.

Vetenskap & Allmänhet/VA (Public & Science) is a non-profit association aimed at promoting openness and dialogue between researchers and the surrounding society. The association conducts studies and surveys, arranges meetings and activities, and develops and tests new formats for dialogue.
The association also collects and disseminates its own and others’ knowledge and experiences of collaboration and communication between the general public and researchers. The Swedish Research Council is a member of Vetenskap & Allmänhet.
With Extrakt, Formas hopes to create a bridge between research and the wider society to ensure that new knowledge reaches out and makes a real-world impact.
Extrakt is an online magazine for curious people who want to stay updated on the latest research. It can be read and understood by anyone with an interest in research within Formas’ areas of activity – environment, agricultural sciences and spatial planning.
Forte’s research briefs are a series of publications which in short describes the level of knowledge in a certain social field. Each publication is authored by a group of researchers and representatives of society and reviewed.
