Our operation is divided into ten departments. We have three scientific councils, one council and four committees that decide on the allocation of research funds. The entire operation is headed by a board, which is appointed by higher education institutions and the Government.

Researchers in Sweden shall have access to the best tools and methods. This is why the Swedish Research Council research infrastructure both and internationally. All the research infrastructure that we fund is listed on this page. Please contact the research infrastructure directly if you would like to know how to access it.

Researchers sometimes require advanced tools in order to conduct their research. We refer to such tools as research infrastructures. Examples include databases, research facilities, biobanks and large-scale computational tools. The Swedish Research Council funds research infrastructures in Sweden and other countries. We do so in order to create the best possible conditions for Swedish research.
