About our ESS-workshop on 26 October in Lund
This event is the third in a series of annual workshops with focus on the Swedish ambitions in the development and use of the new big research infrastructures being built in Lund – the MAX IV laboratory and the European Spallation Source (ESS) ERIC. This year we will put these ambitions in a european context.
In line with the earlier Lund Declarations on Grand Challenges from 2009, Sweden makes a substantial effort to provide future researchers and industry with tools to stay competitive. By investing in ESS and MAX IV we hope to create a hub for innovation in order to address the grand challenges of our time.
Our ambition is that these investments will not only lead to excellent science and innovative breakthroughs, but also create a cluster in northern Europe that will be in the forefront of knowledge. This will help the European Union to stay competitive and prosperous by tackling the grand challenges that we face on a global scale and contribute to finding sustainable solutions.
